Chunky House Plant Potting Mix

Our chunky mix is made for moisture-sensitive aroids that love fast drainage and excellent airflow around their roots. Thick, textured, and chunky. Not your average potting compost.

Best for: Monsteras, philodendrons, pothos, ZZ plants, hoyas, anthuriums, and other aroids that thrive in a loose, well-aerated mix.

Why the ingredients work:

• Organic coco coir provides structure and gentle moisture retention without compacting over time
• Pin bark creates the chunky texture aroids love, mimicking the loose, organic matter found on forest floors
• Perlite maximises drainage and keeps the mix light so roots can spread freely
• Worm castings feed your plant slowly and naturally, supporting lush, healthy growth

How to use: Repot when roots begin to peek through drainage holes or the plant becomes top-heavy. Choose a pot 2–5 cm larger, add a base layer of mix, position your plant, and backfill. The chunky texture may need a little firming around the roots. Water thoroughly after repotting, then allow the top few centimetres to dry out before watering again.
